Pistachio & Kernels
•IRAN: Prices are still stable and unchanged. The quantity is getting lower. Approaching to holy Ramadhan will affect on the prices.
•INDIA: Pistachio prices declined by 0.10 USD per kg in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockiest. Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from overseas markets also put pressure on pistachio prices. Pistachio hairati and peshawari fell by 0.10 USD to settle at 19.39-19.93 USD and 23.72-24.80 USD per kg, respectively. Traders said subdued demand from retailers and stockiest against increased arrivals from overseas markets mainly pulled down pistachio prices in the wholesale dry fruit market.
•USA: At the request of the industry, the Agricultural Marketing Service has proposed new rules in the marketing order for pistachios grown in California, Arizona and New Mexico and destined for export. The amendments to the marketing order would give authority to the administrative committee for pistachios to establish regulations for Aflatoxin levels and quality definitions for pistachios to be exported. The current marketing order has such regulations only for pistachios sold domestically.
•USA: Pests were relatively quiet in some orchards while doing significant damages in others. Pesticide sprays were made in pistachio orchards.
Almond
•IRAN: the prices are almost stable and the quantity and quality of new crop of this year will play an important role on the price.
•USA: Cooler temperatures delayed development in almond orchards. Pests were relatively quiet in some orchards while doing significant damages in others. Pesticides and fungicides were applied.
Raisin
•IRAN: Still the price of different types of raisin is unchanged and it is time to order. However, it is forecasted that due to approaching to holy Ramadhan the price will increase drastically.
•1300 MT of organic raisin was exported to France and Germany by Qazvin province of Iran last year.
Saffron
•IRAN: Now the price of saffron is lower compare to the last week. It is time to purchase.
•Iran’s saffron price decreased by 53% compared to the last year. Iran’s Competitors are losing the market subsequently.
Fig
•IRAN: due to the low season, the quantity is small, it is recommended to care more about the health of the product being ordered as the products are more likely to be contaminated with live insects and their bodies or eggs. It would be wiser to be supplied with companies which follow good storing and warehousing conditions.
Date
•As it is end of the season now, the quality is small; it is suggested to pay more attention while purchasing dates as they are more susceptible of being contaminated with the live pests and insects or their eggs. It is recommended to purchase from the suppliers who care more about the storing conditions.
•Khuzestan province in Iran produces more than 170,000 MT of dates this year aiming at being a main pole of date production, processing and packaging. It is expected that the province this year’s export rate will reach to 40-45 Million USD
•Iran is going to start a comprehensive date project starts from 2011 and last in 2015. The project covers the production, Business and commerce sections.

•Iran doubled its export to EU in March
Iran has doubled its export to EU in March comparing to a month before topping $1.9 bn. Iran-EU trade volume in the same month reached $ 3.2 bn indicating a rise of 52% comparing to February 2011.

Iranian government plans to increase non-oil export to $45 billion.
