IRAN: It is hard to make any precise prediction in regard to the pistachio new crop prices. But regarding the quality it is forecasted that quality will be much better than the year before. USA: It’s definitely an off year for Arizona pistachios. Arizona pistachio growers their production would go down in 2011 — an off-year for the alternate bearing crop. USA: US pistachio prices stable as shipments continue to improve. PRICES of US pistachios are steady, following a slight rebound in prices at the start of July.
CHINA: China demand pressurising tight Iran pistachio supplies. Strong chinese demand for Iranian pistachios has exerted a further squeeze on already-limited remaining stocks from the 2010 crop.
ALMOND
IRAN: it is predicted that Mambra almond will be lower in quantity but higher in quality. With respect to sweet almonds, it is forecasted that those harvested in Azerbaijan region and also Khorasan and Shiraz Regions will be in lower quantity as that of the last year, but according to the predictions the quality will be considerably higher.

USA: Prospect of huge California almond crop fails to bring market down. Californian inventories of almonds are running out and the new crop is significantly delayed, while reasonable demand is still to be fulfilled in all the major buying regions. These factors combined with the Californian shippers' strong position after a good year of sales suggest a firm price trend may continue at least in the short term, despite the bumper crop expectations.
Raisin
IRAN: due to the sudden showers and bad weather of this year it is predicted that the crop of the some of the regions will be somewhat affected.

SOUTH AFRICA: raisin production in South Africa predicted to bounce back in 2012. South Africa, the world’s fifth largest producer of raisins, will see production for 2011/12 increase slightly as raisin growers slowly recover from flood damage that occurred earlier this year.
USA: again no two price system for raisin industry. California's Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC) has voted unanimously to establish 100% free tonnage for the state's Natural Seedless (NTS) raisin crop this year. It was agreed at the meeting there would be no reserve this year, so they will have 100% free tonnage and no ability to fund a two price system this year. It is a little early to know what the grower price will be for this year's crop.
USA: Shata Trading of New York is recalling Three Rivers Brand golden raisins because they contain undeclared sulphites. The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State department of agriculture and market food inspectors revealed the presence of sulphites in Three Rivers Brand golden raisins which were not declared on the label. Consumers who have a severe sensitivity to sulphites run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions.
Saffron
IRAN: it is predicted that the quantity of this year will be lower than last year. This will affect the price subsequently. According to the forecasts the quality will be higher than the last crop.

IRAN: Iranian Saffron Export to Surpass 110,000 Tons. Iranian Saffron production is well and expected to surpass 110,000 tons of exports this year. The head of Iranian Saffron Exporting Union said with the current desirable situation of Iranian saffron production, it is expected that the country's annual exports will surpass 110,000 tons this year. The European saffron exports consider Iran as a strong rival for their business and they believe that the very suitable price of Iranian high quality saffron has caused them huge losses because they cannot compete in the market. TURKEY: Turkish fig growers anxious over weather. TURKEY's dried fig crop is delayed by up to a fortnight after adverse weather conditions earlier this year, and farmers are now keeping a close eye on the weather. If temperatures rise significantly in August production will be affected, but any rainfall in September could affect the drying process.
Date
IRAN: the crop of this year will be available in the same quantity of the last year. But the quality is much better. Sayer dates are predicted to have lower quantities but Kabkabs are predicted to be available in more quantity than the last year. Zahedi date is predicted to be lower in quantity.

IRAN: The harvesting time for the new crop starts from September to the mid October. Forcasts are toward a more fruitful year for both products.

Food industry can compete with the oil sector in earning export revenues once it receives equal suppor. global food crisis, the existence of regional markets and people's interest in halal foods (the foods considered lawful as per Islamic Law) are among the opportunities which can be utilized by the industry, IRNA reported. Iran Dried Fruits Export Reaches $2 Bln.
Iranian dried fruits export will exceed $2 billion by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ending Mar 20). Iran has exported $1.5 billion of dried fruits during the previous Iranian calendar year which ended on March 20 and insisted that with the current rate of growth in exporting such products, the value will pass $2 billion by next year.
