PISTACHIO

IRAN: Iran’s Pistachio Crop Report
To date, approximately 50% of Iran’s pistachio orchards have been harvested, with the crop quality being better compared to crop-year 2017. The prevalence of closed-shell pistachios in the 2018 crop has been reported to be as normal and even lower. Production levels of long varieties have been superior to round in crop-year 2018. Relative to the 2017 crop, 2018 has yielded a larger nut with a relatively good visual appearance. (Quoted from Iran Pistachio Association 12-09-2018)

ALMOND

IRAN: Almond Exports Earn 4,800 Tons

More than 129,600 tons of almonds were produced in Iran in the last Iranian year (March 2017-18) around 4,800 tons of which were exported to different countries. Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture reported. The report cites data released by the Statistical Center of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. Turkey, India and Germany with 3,200, 1,300 and 119 tons of purchases respectively were Iran’s top three export destinations for the product over the period. (Quoted from Financialtribune 1-09-2018)

IRAN: Iran’s Raisin Exports Earn $12m in 4 Months
Iran exported 11,077 tons of raisins worth $12.77 million during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-August 22), latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration’s show. Iraq, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Spain were the main customers of Iranian raisins during the period. (Quoted from Financialtribune 26-09-2018)

IRAN: Iran earned $220m from date exports in year to March 2018
Iran exported dates valued at $220 million in the year to mid-March 2018, said the secretary of the National Association of Iranian Dates (NAID). Meqdad Takallouzadeh told Iran Daily that Iran exports dates to more than 60 countries. He added that in the 12-month period to March 2018, Iran produced 1.2 million tons of date, of which 200,000 tons were exported. He said that Iranian dates are in high demand in global markets. Iran's dates are renowned worldwide for their diversity and high quality. Takallouzadeh said the present circumstance of Iranian forex market has made date exports more economical, adding that exports of the crop are expected to increase by March 2019. IRAN: Iran’s Saffron export rises 33% in 5 months on year

Iran’s saffron exports increased 33 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22) compared to the same period of time in the past year, according to the latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA). The IRICA data show that the country exported $123.73 million of saffron in the five-month period of this year, while the figure was $92.904 million in the same time span of the previous year, Mehr news agency reported on Wednesday. Spain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Italy, U.S., India, France, Canada, Britain, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Australia, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain, Austria, South Africa, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Czech Republic, Vietnam, Taiwan, Qatar and Kuwait were among the buyers of Iranian saffron during the first five months of the current year. Iran’s exports of saffron increased about 55 percent in the past Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20) compared to its preceding year, breaking the record of exports in the past ten years. According to Kaveh Zargaran, the chairman of the Agricultural Committee at the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA), some 236 tons of saffron worth over $326 million were exported to the destination markets in the mentioned period. UAE, Hong Kong, Spain, Afghanistan and China were the top importers of Iranian saffron while the top three namely UAE, Hong Kong and Spain accounted for over 77 percent of the total exports.
